Hyeres 09: Day 4 Light Winds = Long Day

E-mail Print PDF

It was another day of light and patchy conditions at the Semaine Olympique Française, the fourth of seven International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Sailing World Cup events. With light and shifty northerly breeze coming in early afternoon, racing got underway
behind schedule, a first attempt to race was quickly hampered by a big shift that cancelled racing for the Stars, 49ers and Lasers. The wind came back from the south west and allowed for two races in most classes and three for the 49ers and the Stars. Racing ended after 7 pm.

In the RS:X Class Women's Fleet, Chen Peina (CHN) leads the fleet by six points and over in the RS:X Class Men's fleet, top dog is Shahar Zubari (ISR) who has put in a string of bullets to lead Julien Bontemps (FRA) by 7 points. These two seem almost unbeatable in the light airs
