2010 Semaine Olympique Francaise:RS:X Day 3 - Piotr & Bryony get a grip on the leaderboad

E-mail Print PDF

The AP flags were raised and lowered several times today at Semaine Olympique Francaise as sailors met the same light air fate as the past two days. By the end of the day, the RS:X Men and RS:X Women had both squeazed out one race, but it wasn't the full day of consistent racing they craved. With racing ending Friday, racers must make every race count in order to stay in the top 10.

In the meantime, there's nothing more to do but work on your tan and enjoy the fact that Hyeres has not served up its normal menu of lashings of rain served with a cold breeze.

Over in the RS:X women's fleet it's Bryony Shaw [GBR] who is revelling in the conditions. Taking the gun in today's only race she is now sitting on a comfortable cushion of 5 points. Charline Picon [FRA4] is establishing herself in 2nd place with some consistent rersults. The rest are waiting for the discard to kick in and re-order the pack whilst doing their best to stay focused on putting in some good results.

In the RS:X men;s fleet, two races were completed. Piotr Myszka [POL82] is the overnight leader with a 4 point lead over Juan Manuel Moreno [ESP8] who climbs to second in front of Nimrod Mashiah [ISR21] and Nick Dempsey [GBR1] 4th. When the discard is taken at the end of day 4, the overall standings will certainly be subject to change but expect Piotr, Juan Manuel and Nimrod to be remain on top.
