14-17 knots in Miami on day 2 of the Rolex Miami OCr and it's Spain's
Marina Alabau who showed a clean pair of heels by winning both races
of the day. She now has a perfect score. 4 races, 4 wins and 4 points.
it is hard to see how Blanca Manchon -ESP1 - can get back on terms.
Her regatta is effectively over. She had a bad day finishing 10th and
a 14th and now lies deep in the pack with only a place in the medal
race to fight for.
Turning up the heat is Great Britain's Bryony Shaw who is sailing consistently
with 3 second places and a 7th overall. When the discard kicks in tomorrow,
she can extend her lead over 3rd place Charline Picon - FRA4 - all being well
but realistically It's Marina's to lose now.
Whilst it may be practically all over in the RS:X women's fleet, the opposite is true over in the RS:X Men's fleet. it's Dorian van Rijsselberge - NED 8 - who has the regatta by the throat. He flew in the breeze today winning twice to take over the top spot from Britain's Nick Dempsey. Speaking after racing today, Nick said " I wasn't all that happy about todays performance. I had a coming together on last reach today and made a few mistakes. It was Good close racing though, I'll be looking to sail better tomorrow"
Ivan Pastor -ESP7 - is just one point behind in 3rd with top Israeli sailor, Nimrod Mashiah back in 4th with a chance to grab a place on the podium when the discards come into play. He had a great day finishing second in both races of the day. He will certainly be mixing it up in the top 3 going into the medal race on the final day.
