First long day
Monday, the first day of competition with three qualification races planned, was a heavy cloudy day and cold, in Eilat terms.
The wind was not stable and didn’t allow completing the three races.
Starting with the men who hardly completed their first race when women start time already passed, they were sent to the shore to allow at least one race for the women.
After first race for women ended and second race started, men were called to sea, hoping men’s second race could be completed also, but wind conditions hardly enabled completing women’s second race, so men went to shore, ending the first day with a single race, women finishing their second race.
Daylight has been squeezed to allow the six races in total for the four fleets.
